AZT-triphosphate is a thymidine analog used for inhibition of reverse transcription in vitro and for the investigation of polymerase-substrate interactions.
AZT (3′-Azido-3′-Deoxythymidine 5′-Triphosphate, Tri(triethylammonium) Salt) is widely used as an antiviral agent. Purity is determined by HPLC > 97%. AZT penetrates the cell membrane and is converted into AZT triphosphate which inhibits the reaction of reverse transcription. It is supplied as an aqueous solution with a concentration of 100 mM.
