Description
GeneFix Assisted DNA Saliva Collectors were developed for donors who have difficulty delivering saliva, such as children. GeneFix (GFX) is an easy to use saliva collection device that stabilizes DNA and viral RNA in tubes pre-filled with a non-toxic stabilization buffer. The collector has a simple screw-on funnel and the tube clearly indicates the volume of saliva required.
The assisted kit includes the standard GeneFix components as well as two absorbent swabs. The swab is simply squeezed against the inside of funnel to release the saliva into the stabilization buffer. Once in the buffer, DNA is stabilized for 5 years and viral RNA is stabilized for 5 days at room temperature, with high yields maintained.
With leakproof collection tubes, GeneFix saliva collectors are fully specified for sample transport and storage.
