MagSi-STA beads are coated with streptavidin which efficiently binds to biotinylated molecules. These magnetic silica beads are suitable for many applications based on the strong Streptavidin-Biotin interaction and are particularly useful as a solid support phase in immunoassays.
MagSi-STA beads are available with different bead sizes, streptavidin coupling chemistries, and binding capacities, so you can select the ideal beads for your application. They are coated with recombinant streptavidin (53 kDa) with shortened N- and C-terminus for improved solubility and accessibility of the sites. Albumin binding sites are eliminated for optimal specificity.
MagSi-STA 3.0 L beads have a carboxylated surface activation. This type is intended for applications requiring a relatively hydrophilic surface, and also includes a spacer.
