Description
The vector pG-20-hCenpA is a ready-to-use mammalian expression vector encoding a fusion protein of the fluorescent protein EGFP and the human kinetochore protein CenpA. EGFP is fused by a 20 amino acid linker to the N-terminus of hCenpA. pG-20-hCenpA can be used to transfect mammalian cell lines, as successfully done for HeLa, HEp-2, and U2OS. EGFP-hCenpA labels centromeres, enabling the application of fluorescent microscopy techniques and the pull-down of inner kinetochore proteins using GFP-binding proteins.
- Encodes a fusion protein of the fluorescent protein EGFP and the human kinetochore protein CenpA
- Modern fluorescence microscopy techniques to determine localization, binding, dynamics, protein-protein interactions and protein-protein proximities
- Fluorescence methods such as FRET, FRAP, FCS, RICS, FCCS, and F3H
