CANDOR Blocking Reagent Sampler Package

This package includes The Blocking Solution, SmartBlock™ and BSA-Block. These three products are blockers offered by CANDOR with different characteristics. They are designed for saturating free binding sites on plastic surfaces or other protein binding surfaces, removing background, and preventing unwanted binding. 

• The Blocking Solution is well suited for assays that require high reproducibility and low coefficients of variation. It is based on highly purified casein that has been chemically modified. Of the three blockers, The Blocking Solution is the strongest.

• SmartBlock™ is a BSA-free, peptide-based blocker. For many assays, SmartBlock™ is an economical and reliable alternative to BSA-containing solutions. Problems caused by BSA within blockers, such as BSA-interactions and cross reactivities, can be eliminated by using SmartBlock™.

• BSA-Block is ideal for assays involving albumin-sensitive capture antibodies. If you experience background due to non-specific binding even when using BSA-Block, we recommend using The Blocking Solution. The blocking efficiency of SmartBlock™ and The Blocking Solution is stronger compared to classic BSA blockers and can be used if the capture antibodies do not heavily depend on BSA.
