Description
Cat# 152598
Applications ELISA, IHC, WB
Antigen/Gene or Protein Targets Cytochrome P450, family 2, subfamily W, Polypeptide 1 (CYP2W1)
Reactivity Human
Relevance Cytochrome P450, family 2, subfamily W, Polypeptide 1 (CYP2W1) is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. CYP2W1 has been shown to be mainly expressed in tumors and not in normal human tissue. Has been implicated in colorectal cancer.
Host Mouse
Immunogen Ovalbumin-conjugated synthetic peptide - RYRLLPPPGV (C-terminal sequence)
Positive Control For western blot - pooled liver microsomes
Subclass IgG2b
Molecular Weight (kDa) 55
Research Area Cancer, Cardiovascular, Cell Signaling & Signal Transduction, Metabolism

Image:  Immunohistochemistry was performed using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections of human colon carcinoma using anti-Cytochrome P450 2W1 [V32-P5E5]. Strong cytoplasmic staining is shown as expected. The antibody showed no or weak staining in another non-cancerous tissue (data not shown).
