Description
This trial kit includes 1ml of each of the 8 types of MagSi-STA beads. The beads differ in their bead sizes, surface activations and free biotin binding capacities. With this kit, the user can test the different beads to determine which characteristics are suitable for the application.
MagSi-STA beads are magnetic silica beads coated with streptavidin. These beads efficiently bind to biotinylated molecules, such as peptides, proteins, antibodies, sugars, and lectins. They are suitable for many applications based on the strong Streptavidin-Biotin interaction, including purification of proteins and peptides or nucleic acids, immunoprecipitation, immunoassays, protein interaction studies, phage display, and cell isolation.
Streptavidin-coated beads are particularly useful as a solid support phase in immunoassays. Assay performance is influenced by bead characteristics as well as the total amount of beads used. By evaluating the different beads in this kit in parallel, the user can select the optimal beads for their assay development.
