Description
MoBiTec’s MFP488 Protein Labeling Kit provides a convenient tool to label proteins with MoBiTec’s superior MFP488 dye. This kit contains everything that is needed to perform 3 separate labeling reactions and to purify the resulting labeled protein conjugates.
MoBiTec’s series of MFP dyes have multiple advantages:
- More brightness than the commonly used dyes
- High emission fluorescence due to high quantum yield values
- High fluorescence intensity resulting from the high extinction coefficients and quantum yields of the dyes
- High photo-stability provides more time for observation and image capture
- High water solubility allows for easy protein labeling procedures without the use of organic solvents
- pH insensitive - remains highly fluorescent over a broad pH range (pH 4 - 9)
- Compatible with commonly used excitation sources and filter sets
MFP488 is spectrally similar to fluorescein and thus compatible with the same excitation sources and filter sets as used for fluorescein. Its protein conjugates are much brighter and more photostable than fluorescein conjugates. MFP488 has a succinimidyl ester moiety (NHS-ester) that reacts efficiently with primary amines of proteins to form stable dye-protein conjugates.
