The ELISA-VIDITEST anti-VZV IgG kit is intended for
in vitro diagnosis of VZV (varicella-zoster virus)-associated diseases, namely varicella and herpes zoster. The test can also be utilized for the differential diagnosis of neuroinfections, infections of the eye and of exanthematous diseases of the skin. The measurements should be supplemented with the detection of IgM and IgA antibodies to VZV or with the determination of IgG avidity.
This assay is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Reaction wells are coated with the native VZV antigen. Anti-VZV antibodies from serum samples bind to the immobilized antigens. The anti-VZV antibodies are then recognized by anti-human IgG antibodies labeled with horseradish peroxidase (Px-conjugate). The presence of the labeled antibodies bound to the anti-VZV antibodies is revealed by an enzymatic reaction with a chromogenic substrate that changes the color of the solution within the well.
