Description
DreamFect™ Gold is a highly efficient transfection reagent used for all types of nucleic acids. This reagent uses TEE Technology (Triggered Endosomal Escape), a mechanism that combines and exploits the properties of cationic lipids and polymers to achieve extremely efficient DNA delivery into cells.
Compared to other transfection reagents, DreamFect Gold has an improved cytoplasmic release process and stronger biodegradability, resulting in higher protein expression. It does not interfere with cellular mechanisms, allowing high cell viability and avoiding potential secondary effects.
DreamFect™ Gold reagent can also be combined with Magnetofection™ transfection technology by using it with CombiMag Transfection Enhancing Reagent. This approach is particularly useful for very difficult to transfect cells such as certain primary cells. The combination of the two technologies will allow you to use very small amounts of DNA and increase the overall efficiency of your transfections. DreamFect Gold and CombiMag are offered together as part of the LipoMag kit.
Figure 1: RFP expression in different cell lines. Cos-7 (A) and HeLa (B) cell lines (1x105 cells/ well) were transfected with 0.5 μg of pRFP plasmid DNA and 4 μl of DreamFect Gold reagent per well in a 24-well plate. RFP expression was monitored 24 h after transfection by fluorescence microscopy.
Figure 2: DreamFect Gold outperforms all tested transfection reagents. Cell lines (1x105 cells / well) were transfected with 1 μg of pLacZ plasmid DNA and 4 μl of DreamFect Gold reagent per well in a 24-well plate. The other transfection reagents were assayed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
