Description
The vector phCenpA-15-G is a ready-to-use mammalian expression vector encoding a fusion protein of the human kinetochore protein CenpA and the fluorescent protein EGFP. EGFP is fused by a 15 amino acid linker to the C-terminus of hCenpA. phCenpA-15-G can be used to transfect mammalian cell lines, as successfully done for HeLa, HEp-2, and U2OS. EGFP-hCenpA labels centromeres, enabling the application of fluorescent microscopy techniques and the pull-down of inner kinetochore proteins using
GFP-binding proteins.
