Saliva collectors for sampling, storage and transport optimized for automation.
The new GeneFix HT Format Assisted Collectors are automation-friendly saliva collectors to complement the existing GeneFix DNA/RNA Saliva Collectors. The assisted collectors include 2 foam swabs for patients who have difficulty delivering saliva.
GeneFix HT Format Assisted Collectors (GFXAH) contain a key fitting cap and locking base designed to fit automated de-capping machines. The collectors integrate into many existing racking systems. Formats are available with and without 2D barcodes.
Like the regular GeneFix Assisted Saliva Collectors, GFXAH collectors are pre-filled with a non-toxic stabilization buffer that preserves DNA and viral RNA. Once saliva has been absorbed onto the swab, the swab is squeezed against the inside of funnel to release the saliva into the buffer. The collector has a screw-on funnel that is removed after the sample is in the tube. The buffer stabilizes DNA for 5 years and viral RNA for 5 days at room temperature, with high yields maintained. The robust collection tubes are fully specified for sample transport and storage.
