Description
B-BOX is a long wavelength, blue light LED epi-illuminator. B-BOX can greatly ease the routine chore of gel extraction, enabling easy visualization and gel cutting even in bright ambient light. The use of blue light has several advantages over UV light:
- UV light damages the DNA sequence
- DNA electrophoresis mobility is reduced after exposure to UV light
- Cloning efficiency is reduced after exposure to UV light
The adjustable and removable multi-angle filter plate provides optimal angles for gel cutting, visualization, and documentation. A built-in barrier system around the working area helps facilitate cleaning. B-BOX epi-illuminator provides an unprecedented level of safety for users due to its non-UV light source, non-carcinogenic DNA and protein dye, and a low operating voltage of only 12 volts. Amber-colored filter goggles are included.
B-BOX has superior detection sensitivity when used with FluoroStain DNA Fluorescent Staining Dye for DNA, FluoroStain Protein Fluorescent Staining Dye for proteins, FluoroDye DNA Fluorescent Loading Dye and FluoroVue Nucleic Acid Gel Stain.
